What are ASA and LSA?

Authorized shared access (ASA) was proposed to allow spectrum sharing in frequency bands allocated for IMT use when and wherever incumbent use does not exist. The concept operates with individual authorizations, or licenses, in frequency bands allocated to mobile service.  Later, the concept was generalized to other frequency bands in harmonized manner and named as licensed shared access (LSA).  A key feature is to ensure predictable quality of service for all users.

Incumbent management

ASA concept has been initially propsed to frequency bands 2,3 GHz (sharing with wireless cameras and military applications) and 3,8 GHz (sharing with satellite services).  WISE2 project is working with incumbent use 2,3-2,4 GHz band. There management tool for wireless cameras have been developed.

The ASA work is done in cooperation with CORE+ project
